NGC 7000, IC 5070 and IC 5067

2020

may 19-28

The North America Nebula is located in the constellation Cygnus near the bright star Deneb, about 1,600 light years from Earth.

It is an emission nebula whose main component is ionized hydrogen, which produces an intense red light.

The NGC 7000 nebula has a distinctive shape resembling the outline of North America. You can see the resemblance to the contours of a continent with a pronounced coastline and bays.
